Support Indigenous Business
Discover local First Nations, Inuit, and Métis businesses open to serve you during the COVID-19 Crisis.
Coronavirus' impact on Indigenous businesses
Why is consumer support for Indigenous business important during this time?
- There are over 50,000 Indigenous businesses in Canada and 99% of them are small- or medium-sized enterprises, which are being hardest hit by the pandemic
- Indigenous businesses on-reserve face unique barriers at this time because of the lack of broadband and infrastructure that enables e-commerce
- Main sources of financing for privately- or community-owned Indigenous businesses are retained earnings, private savings, or development corporations – not traditional lenders
